The benefits
Sandstone is one of the most porous stones around, so it soaks up dirt, tannin and moisture and quickly becomes home to mould, moss and black organic growth. Hosing won't shift it. We clean the sandstone with the right pressure and products, treat staining where possible, then apply an impregnating sealer that soaks into the stone. Sealing slows how quickly water and stains get in, helps keep growth from coming straight back, and keeps your sandstone looking its best for longer.
What's the process?
Clean the surface using suitable pressure, products and methods for the stone type.
Treat existing staining and organic contamination where possible.
Make sure conditions are right for application according to the selected product.
Apply the suitable impregnating sealing system in the required number of coats.
Preparation matters more than anything on sandstone. Sealing over growth or staining locks it in, so the clean and stain treatment come first.
